Bring chemistry to your students. Free.
If your high school does not offer chemistry — or has limited access — we will match you with a volunteer chemistry professor, teaching assistant, or graduate student.
Who's eligible
We prioritize schools where students have the least access to chemistry. You're a strong fit if any of the following apply:
- Your school is in a state where chemistry is not universally offered (see map below).
- Your school has approximately 80% or more minority enrollment.
- Your school is rural, under-resourced, or otherwise lacks a chemistry teacher.
- Your school has chemistry but needs an extra section or remote support.
- You're a tribal school, charter, or alternative program seeking science access.
Not sure if you qualify? Submit the form anyway — we'd rather hear from you than not.
What we provide
- A vetted volunteer chemistry educator (professor, TA, or graduate student).
- A complete curriculum: 11 Level 1 lectures (life safety chemistry) and 13 Level 2 lectures (advanced).
- Lecture scripts, slides, household demos, and safety guidelines — all included.
- Live remote classes via Zoom or Google Meet (in-person where possible).
- Background-checked volunteers, vetted by Chemdu coordinators.
- Certificates of attendance for students who complete a level.
